Mixtape: Egyptrixx - Music To ... DRONE Out To

Two months back, we highlighted "Ax//s," the first cut from Egyptrixx's newest effort A/B Til Infinity. Since then, the producer has released the album, an hour-long "scrapbook" of ideas that inspired the new LP, and now this mammoth (MAMMOTH) mix Music To ... DRONE Out To.

I've been doing this for quite a while, scouring the internet for mix after mix for endless hours. But never, ever, have I seen anything put together quite like this. Music To ... DRONE Out To reaches almost seven hours. Seven. The selections here, which features the work of Oneohtrix Point Never and Tim Hecker, among a litany of others, also apparently inspired Egyptrixx's new work. Album Stream: Hit + Run - 777 (ft. Jeremiah Jae, Ras_G, Kutmah, Zeroh, Knxwledge, and more)

Southern California live screenprinting company Hit + Run might seem like an odd platform to release compilations, but the company - founded by Brandy Flower and Mike Crivello back in 2005 - has been curating these for a while now.

The group, which has previously held events at Coachella and SXSW, debuted the 777 29-track effort, which features the likes of B&B favorites Jeremiah Jae, Ras_G, Zeroh, Knxwledge, Kutmah, and plenty more. The entire comp can be bought on the Hit + Run Bandcamp, available below.

Lee Bannon - Value 10

A couple weeks back we hit up the preview of Lee Bannon's Ninja Tune debut LP, with the teaser for "Value 10" - a cab-driver sampled, twisted single.

Now, Bannon has released the full-effort, which makes the cab portion a little more clear at the end. And by clear, I mean it's totally unfiltered and you can hear a cab driver trying to score coke from Bannon and his producer (info via Dazed Digital).

EP Stream: Burial - Rival Dealer

Still lurking in the pantheon of artists that can never be ignored, UK producer Burial has returned with the brand new three track Rival Dealer EP. On the title track, available below, Burial flexes his supernatural ability to comb Euro-fused dub with morose house-inspired beats. While that might sound similar to most of his work, "Rival Dealer" does show newer, more frenetic pace and vocal sampling as well.

Yesterday marked the release of Long Island rapper Roc Marciano's Marci Beaucoup, a classic dive into 90s-inspired raps, brimming with guest stars like; Action Bronson, Guilty Simpson, Blu, Oh No, The Alchemist, and more.

St. Vincent - Birth In Reverse

With the jump from her long-time label affiliate 4AD, to the major-label owned Republic/Loma Vista, St. Vincent is ready for a prime-time debut; with a song that almost immediately references masturbation.

"Birth In Reverse," from her self-titled fourth album, features the sticky, chugging bass familiar with her name, is a step in a slightly new direction for the singer-songwriter, who refers to her new record as, "a party record you could play at a funeral.”

together PANGEA - Cat Man

From the band's forthcoming Badillac, the recently-renamed together PANGEA debuted the new animated, slightly NSFW video for "Cat Man."

The bluesy garage effort is highlighted by Shelby Hohl's animated violence, which ends up being much more satanic than you might expect. Watch it below and pre-order Badillac before its January 21 release, via Harvest Records.

EP Stream: Synkro & Manos - Lost Here

Shortly after the official release of his new EP Lost Here, producer Synkro revealed the four-track effort via YouTube, making it available to stream in full. The first two tracks from the piece features the hushed vocal styling of Manos, while the latter allow the Manchester producer to toy around with more ambient structuring.

Demdike Stare - Testpressing #004

With the fourth installment to its ongoing Testpressing series, producer duo Demdike Stare have released two unbelievably brutal, anachronistic tracks with "Fail" and "Null Results."

The former bleeds distressing distant echoes, drumming up to a hurling, deconstructive ending. That may sound remotely boastful, but rest assured "Fail" delivers in such a profound way that there's no way of possibly overstating it.

While "Null Results" doesn't have the provocative "aw" of "Fail," it does well to comb a little acid house into the effort. Stream both tracks below courtesy of Modern Love.

Album Stream: vhvl - myrrh

The newest entrant in the impossibly endless class of incredible new producers comes from Harlem resident vhvl, with her probably impossible to pronounce nine-track album myrrh.

Each track is equally hard to say, with none longer than three letters and pretty much absent of verbs. Hell, one of them isn't even letters, just two infinity symbols next to each other. I'm not that great at math but I'm pretty sure infinity x infinity cancels everything out too. So is the title really nothing?!

Anyway, the beats are strange, the loops are dark, and the album is awesome. Stream it below and download it at vhvl's Bandcamp.

Madlib - Hold The Organ

After finally announcing the release of his upcoming Rock Konducta series, the world's greatest living producer Madlib has given out one of the first tracks from the series with "Hold The Organ."

The vinyl-only release of Volume One (a two part series) comes December 10, with a more diverse package of the two parts coming in spring of next year. Until then, listen to the new track below, courtesy of Madlib's own Invazion label.

Vapauteen - Basilisk

As part of his six-track eponymous Vapauteen EP, producer Shawn O'Sullivan released the new video for the self-categorized "brutal electronic" track "Basilisk."

Dealing with the paranoid, hard-line techno base of the track, the video is a fragmented series of graphic distortions, which only help to keep up with its frenetic pace. Check out below and order Vapauteen today on L.I.E.S.

Charles Bradley - Ain't It A Sin

Mixed in all the madness of Black Friday's Record Store Day was this brand new take from modern soul maestro Charles Bradley, with his heavy 7" single "Ain't It A Sin."

The 65-year-old singer churns out the painful tune over The Bulletts perfectly modeled blues/funk compositions; a perfect companion piece for The Screaming Eagle Of Soul. Listen to it below courtesy of Daptone Records and check out Bradley's upcoming tour dates here.

The War On Drugs - Red Eyes

After dropping hints at a new album in the near future, Philadelphia's own The War On Drugs released the utterly fantastic lead single to the 2014 LP, with "Red Eyes."

The free-floating psyche pop efforts drips in a beautiful, swirling haze of light distortion and echoing keys. It might be pretty late in for 2013, considering that every media outlet has already let out most of its year end Best Of lists. But damn if "Red Eyes" doesn't deserve some consideration for the year's best tracks.

Stream it below. The War On Drugs' new LP Lost In The Dream will be out Mach 18 on Secretly Canadian. And to mark the release, the band will be performing the first portion of next year's tour at Union Transfer in its native city.

Nocando - Little Green Monsters (ft. Liphemra)

Hellfyre Club figurehead Nocando has detailed the release of his forthcoming album Jimmy The Burnout, which features the dynamic new single "Little Green Monsters." Nocando enlists Liphemra for the dirty hook, but does most of the heavy lifting himself on the effort.

Celebrating its increasing fanbase, Soulection debuted this five track mini-album, from some of its up-and-comer producers. Included in the mix, which is available to stream and download below, are two B&B favorites Ta-ku and ESTA, as well as tracks from Jeftuz, Mr. Carmack, and Sango.

Catch Sango on tour throughout Europe in December, ESTA's new album Paradise, and Soulection's "White Label Series."

Com Truise - Declination (ft. Joel Ford)

Early next year, synth producer du jour Com Truise will be releasing his Wave 1 EP, courtesy of the always stellar Ghostly International. The first cut from the EP, which should be gaining steady hype right about now, features Joel Ford - better known as the producer half of Ejecta and one half of the Ford & Lopatin project - for "Declination."

Unlike the usual Truise fare, "Declination" is a bit heavier on the vocal composition, but the producer doesn't skip out on his trademark bone-crush synth play. Stream the excellent effort below and pre-order Wave 1 before its February 18 release.

Album Stream: Classic Drug References Vol. 1 - Various Artists

We've hit a bit on the glorious out-of-nowhere Classic Drug References compilation last week with Ras_G and Zeroh's "Yumshit" - a warped out, yet short one-two punch from the collection. Only a few days later, we get to here the whole thing, and holy shit you're in the right place.

Also included on the mix, which meshes wonderfully together, are well-established acts like Danny Brown, Knxwledge, Blu, and plenty of others, making for one of the year's best compilation efforts. Stream the entire thing below and order the Sweeney Kovar project here.

Natural Child - Saturday Night Blues

Earlier today, Natural Child unveiled the first single from the band's forthcoming Burger Records LP Dancin' With Wolves, with "Saturday Night Blues." Just like the title implies, the boozy blues take envisions the distasteful exploits of a full-grown man, grousing through his weekly curiosities of drugs, sex, and more drinks than you can count. And all while he's alone.

Album Stream: ESTA - Paradise

If you're an American, you've just come back from a long weekend. If you aren't, we're jealous of your long weekends. Regardless, you may have missed this new album from San Diego's ESTA, Paradise. The Bandcamp LP (available for $7) is full of drifty haze lay-back tracks, kind of how everyone imagines San Diego to be. Hey, 70 degree year-round weather surprisingly never gets old.
