Mixtape: Egyptrixx - Music To ... DRONE Out To

Two months back, we highlighted "Ax//s," the first cut from Egyptrixx's newest effort A/B Til Infinity. Since then, the producer has released the album, an hour-long "scrapbook" of ideas that inspired the new LP, and now this mammoth (MAMMOTH) mix Music To ... DRONE Out To.

I've been doing this for quite a while, scouring the internet for mix after mix for endless hours. But never, ever, have I seen anything put together quite like this. Music To ... DRONE Out To reaches almost seven hours. Seven. The selections here, which features the work of Oneohtrix Point Never and Tim Hecker, among a litany of others, also apparently inspired Egyptrixx's new work. Take the day off and stream it below courtesy of i-D.

A/B Til Infinity is out now on Night Slugs.

Mixtape: Knxwledge - Hexual.Sealings.Prt.6_

Knwxledge, the ultra-prolific LA-via-New Jersey/Pennsylvania producer, seems to be more machine than man. There is, to this point, an endless array of material coming from the young producer, who has yet another inclusion to his growing Hexual.Sealings series with Hexual.Sealings.Prt.6_.

The 12-track mix, available to buy on his Bandcamp, reworks tracks from the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Chris Brown among others. Stream it below.

Mixtape: Action Bronson - Blue Chips 2 (Prod. By Party Supplies)

Following up last year's electric Blue Chips mixtape, Action Bronson and Party Supplies joined forces yet again for the tape's high-profile sequel Blue Chips 2. This go around is completely produced by Party Supplies, who brings in some fairly wacky samples to go with Bronson's Queens-droll, including "Tequila Song" - the favorite track of salsa commercial producers everywhere.

Ab-Soul and Mac Miller, along with a few others, also guest star on the 19-track release. Stream and/or download it below courtesy of Livemixtapes.

Mixtape: SMM: Opiate (Ghostly International)

Ghostly International, one of the best labels around, is bringing out the second installment in its SMM series with SMM: Opiate. The series celebrates the indefinitely broad spectrum of sounds, something of which Ghostly does better than pretty much every other label out there.

Opiate, the second in the series since 2011's Context, features an array of underground artists exploring the depths of drone and ambient, creating for an impossibly lush and rewarding exploration. The mix will be offered up as a vinyl release (as well as digital) in two forms: standard and limited edition. The latter of which will be limited to 350 copies, printed on transparent vinyl with a black silkscreen jacket printed on rare Speckletone French paper - courtesy of Brooklyn's Kayrock Screenprinting. More information on the limited edition package can be found here.

Otherwise, enjoy Opiate in full below and purchase the mixtape here.

Mixtape: Super Helpful Kwame - Sober

Stepping outside his acclaimed Pro Era boundaries, Super Helpful Kwame has floated the wonderfully mutated Sober mixtape.

The particularly warped sounds and approach ache of Kwame's previous work alongside Lee Bannon, with distorted beats dripping through metallic glaze and future-heavy theatrics. Check it for yourself below, free to download or stream.

Mixtape: Knxwledge - Touching Bass (Noisey Series)

The newest installment in Noisey's Touching Bass mixtape series comes from LA producer Knxwledge, who packs the near 40-minute smash with low-hung rap hits, warped with mind-melting production. The whole effort is available for stream/download below, and comes with a special interview with the 25-year-old. In it, he talks about his love for jerked chicken, his sneaker collection, and the Jersey-centric samples he taps into on the mix (including a lot from Hype Williams 1998 film Belly, starring Nas and DMX).

Mixtape: Knxwledge - Hexual.Sealings.Prt.5

New Jersey/Philadelphia producer Knxwledge (now taking up residence in Los Angeles) has what seems to be his 400th release in 2013, Hexual.Sealings.Prt.5. The 8-track mix is fixates on mellowed out soul remixes and samples, even turning heads on his own "Suit & Tie" remix from Justin Timberlake.

Stream the effort below, or head to Knxwledge's Bandcamp to pitch in on one of his many releases.

Mixtape: Arca - &&&&&

One of the more curious inclusions on last month's Yeezus (which kinda gives some insight now on the direction of the record) was little-known producer Arca. Before his Kanye-assisted breakout, Arca had released a series of Stretch mixtapes, both hiding under 30 minutes a piece. The methods and production was, as they are on &&&&&, purely disorienting and cavernous. Blazing through the 14 tracks in the new 25-minute mix can leave one on empty, with Arca scaling all sorts of directions and auras. For the moment when blissful sincerity seems to creep through, around the end, you might forget the cataclysm that lead to that moment.

It's a pure joy and free to download as well.

Download: Larry Gus - The Blue Flowers (Between Blue and Blue); Madlib beats

Mad genius producer Madlib, perhaps more so than any relevant artist today, has enough produced material to last him several lifetimes already. From side-project efforts, to solo work, and co-oped material, the West coast icon seemingly never runs out of material. And the best part of that for fans is that his catalog seems constantly new, even if its stored in archives or lost in DJ sets. In DFA alum Larry Gus' new "The Blue Flowers (Between Blue and Blue)" mix, the producer travels through 54 minutes of Madlib's material, much of which will still be new to most listeners.

See for yourself below.

Stream: Jerome LOL - Subaru Mix

Fans of Los Angeles producer Jerome LOL may already know this, but he's a massive fan of his car; a 1996 Subaru Impreza. How much so? Well he has this brand new "Subaru Mix" he made for LOGO, which probably sounds better when cruising around in one.

Check out the near hour-long mix below.

Stream: Nicolas Jaar - Daftside (Random Access Memories Remixes)

Just so you know, the adornment of Nicolas Jaar has now exploded ten-fold. The visionary 23-year-old producer, two years after the release of the seminal Space Is Only Noise LP (and numerous other small efforts in between), has crafted the otherwordly Daftside. The album (named in the same ilk of his 2011 EP DARKSIDE) completely recraft's Daft Punk's Random Access Memories into something completely new and bewildering. While some arrangements and signatures from the original album are still in tow, Daftside is largely a completely new sounding concept. It's an absolute must-listen, below.

Available to stream and download, the heartwarming instrumental styles are intoxicating and unique, giving a presence of a massive orchestral composition. It's a serious must listen.

Alexander Spit releases new video, announces next project

Housing what may be the best debut of 2013 (so far) is California rapper Alexander Spit. You may remember a some time after the release of A Breathtaking Trip To That Other Side, Spit debuted the massive 25-track free instrumental mixtape Mansions 2, further cementing his stamp on the first of half of the year. Mixtape: Alexander Spit - Mansions 2 (Instrumental)

After the early 2013 release of his masterful debut A Breathtaking Trip To That Other Side, West Coast rapper Alexander Spit doubled-up his strong year with Mansions 2, his supreme 25-track instrumental-only mixtape. This collection, however, is available for free download - although getting every individual track on Soundcloud seems to be somewhat of a chore. If that task proves a little tiresome, simply stream the whole thing below.
