SOHN - Lessons

It's been roughly a year since we've heard anything from Viennese producer SOHN, who lifted the brand new "Lessons" from his forthcoming full-length debut. The limber, delicate track ebbs between sun-soaked R&B and subtle electro inspiration, a la How To Dress Well at its best.

The National perform "Don't Swallow The Cap" on Letterman

Before today's release of the super-anticipated Trouble Will Find Me, The National hit last night's Late Show with David Letterman to perform the LP's early standout "Don't Swallow The Cap".

Last night's live version featured a ring of string and complimentary horn pieces, as well as Doveman, aka Thomas Bartlett coming in on keys, making for a fairly grand performance. Watch the whole thing below, and grab Trouble Will Find Me today(!) on 4AD.

Bonus: The National just announced the band will be performing with Dirty Projectors June 7 at the Mann Center in Philadelphia. Tickets for the event will start at $39.50, and will be sure to sell out quickly.

New The National video - Sea Of Love

While the buzz for Trouble Will Find Me is getting uproariously high ("Album Of The Year" considerations have been passed around already), The National have released the first official video from the record for "Sea Of Love." No it's not that Cat Power song which is still pretty damn great. But this one is good too. Bonus, this is possibly the only video from the group that might be considered "funny."

The National perform "Sea Of Love" and "I Need My Girl" on Fallon

The National, performing two new tracks from the upcoming Trouble Will Find last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, debuted "Sea Of Love" and "I Need My Girl" as a bonus online exclusive. The first, the sweeping and National-esque rapture of "Sea Of Love," fit well as the TV showcase. The latter, however, worked endearingly well as slow-time showcase, demonstrating the band's unreal penchant for heart-wrenching burners.

Twin Shadow video - The Ones

New Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Only In My Dreams

Only a short time after the release of the band's cover of Joe Emerson's "Baby," Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti released "Only In My Dreams." The track is the first we've heard of the band's upcoming album Mature Themes, which is due out August 21 (birthday!) via 4AD. Check it out below.

New Twin Shadow video - Five Seconds

Last night, Twin Shadow premiered their brand new music video for "Five Seconds," the lead single from the group's upcoming album Confess. The actual premiere took place in the center of New York City's Times Square, as part of the Art Takes Times Square program from Artists Wanted, plastered on the many LED screens throughout the epicenter.

The video is directed by Keith Musil, with Twin Shadow frontman Geroge Lewis Jr. taking on co-writing duties (as the main star of the video), which you can watch below. Confess is due out July 10, via 4AD.

New Blood Diamonds - Phone Sex (ft. Grimes)

I'm not sure what exactly this new Blood Diamonds' track has to do with "Phone Sex," but this poppy-electro track featuring Grimes is starting to get around. The single version will be released July 16 (via 4AD) in the UK, but you can check it out below.

Friday Bears: Bon Iver's 4AD/Jagjaguwar session

Enough Justin Vernon's acceptance speech at last Sunday's Grammy Awards. The brainchild behind Bon Iver released a near-25 minute performance of songs from his last self-titled album, 2009's Blood Bank EP, plus his well-known cover of Bonnie Rait's "I Can't Make You Love Me."

Fresh off last week's cutie-cameo on Portlandia, Annie Clark (St. Vincent) premiered her newest video for "Cheerleader," the most-recent single from the Dallas-native's acclaimed third LP Strange Mercy. Watch the video of a giantess Clark below, and grab the aforementioned album now via 4AD.

New Bon Iver video - Holocene

In support of the upcoming release of Bon Iver's "Holocene" 12", courtesy of 4AD Records, the group has released the newest video from their self-titled album. Directed by Nabil (just Nabil, no other name?), the video is an Icelandic sweater adventure that's not a Sigur Ros (miss you guys) video.

The "Holocene" 12" is due out September 5.

Wednesday Bears: New National video - Terrible Love

The National, still reeling off last spring's critical success High Violet, and third successful album in the last five years, released the behind-the-scenes-ish video for their latest album's lead track, "Terrible Love."

The video (although a bit grainy looking), is a nice, dubious compilation of band, dressed finely as usually, playing and wandering around towns, and ogled by hopeless hipsters. It also shows a lighter side to the group that most people wouldn't figure, given their songs about misery and loss. Fun zone.

Friday Bears: The National and Sufjan Stevens are "Afraid" on Letterman

The suit-clad members of The National and special back-up guest Sufjan Stevens performed "Afraid of Everyone" on the Late Show with David Letterman last night, days after the release of the group's super-brooding and spectacular High Violet. The performance is, whatever you think of The National - brooding, and nothing much else describes it more aptly.

Tuesday Bears: New National Video - Bloodbuzz Ohio

Today marks the highly anticipated release of The National's newest studio LP, High Violet. With the release comes the new Hope Hall, Andreas Burgess and Calin Besser (lead singer Matt Berninger's wife) directed video for the album's lead single "Bloodbuzz Ohio."

The video exclusively stars Berninger testing out his early-60s wardrobe in a very National-like noir setting, in all monochrome. It also seems to be more about drinking then Ohio.

Wednesday Bears: New music from The National - Bloodbuzz Ohio

Since everyone else is doing it --

The National debuted the first single from their upcoming studio album, High Violet, earlier today. The single, "Bloodbuzz Ohio," isn't quite as drenched in the ether as "Terrible Love," which the band performed to a fuzzy perfection last week during Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but it still brings lead singer's Matt Berninger's wonderfully swollen gaslight hymns, ala the group's 2007 album, The Boxer.
