King Krule - Easy Easy (Live On Letterman)

King Krule, the British Wunderkind behind one of 2013's best debuts 6 Feet Beneath The Moon, made his U.S. television debut last night, stopping by the Late Show with David Letterman to perform "Easy Easy."

Watching live, you can't help but wonder if the casual CBS audience was totally off-put by Archie's heavy accented signature. But for those who know the 19-year-old, the take was an absolute joy, matching the recorded version with effortless resolve.

The National perform "Don't Swallow The Cap" on Letterman

Before today's release of the super-anticipated Trouble Will Find Me, The National hit last night's Late Show with David Letterman to perform the LP's early standout "Don't Swallow The Cap".

Last night's live version featured a ring of string and complimentary horn pieces, as well as Doveman, aka Thomas Bartlett coming in on keys, making for a fairly grand performance. Watch the whole thing below, and grab Trouble Will Find Me today(!) on 4AD.

Kendrick Lamar on Letterman

Never slowing down, Kendrick Lamar made on an appearance on last night's Late Show with David Letterman performing "Poetic Justice." Lamar performed the same track as his second song when he hit Saturday Night Live a few weeks ago, because of what one could only assume is the jazzy feel.

Last night marked the Late Show with David Letterman debut for soon-to-be superstar New York rapper A$AP Rocky on the day of his LongLiveA$AP release. Performing alongside the always impeccably dressed 24-year-old for the album's title track, and "Wild For The Night."

The former, which was originally produced by Skrillex, featured live help from celebrated producers A-Trak, AraabMuzik, and DJ Clark Kent going at it full force. Watch the electrifying performance from the four below.

Friday Bears: Joy Formidable on Letterman

They put up what has been referred to as a "legendary" performance at Lollapalooza two months ago, but the Joy Formidable made their TV debut last night on the Late Show with David Letterman with "Whirring," the standout from the group's debut The Big Roar, available now.

Tuesday Bears: St. Vincent is everywhere

As September 13, the official release date of St. Vincent's third studio album Strange Mercy inches continually closer, the Dallas-native has been pretty much everywhere; from the cover of this month's SPIN Magazine, performances on Letterman, and numerous spotlights, she's getting her fair share of hype.

Alongside the cover, Annie Clark also gave SPIN a small show which includes "Surgeon" and a cover of Tom Wait's "Tango Till They're Sore," both of which you can watch here. Also, check out her performance of "Cruel" on Letterman below.

Tuesday Bears: The Vaccines on Letterman

Well, that one-day long struggle with malware is apparently out the window, so I'm happy to get back to normal before a possible domain transfer.

The Vaccines made their first appearance on Letterman last night performing "If You Wanna" from the band's debut What Did You Expect From the Vaccines?, set for release next Tuesday, May 31. At this point, if the Vaccines do something and I don't post it, it should be considered a surprise.

Pains of Being Pure at Heart on Letterman

I'm a little unfair with the Pains of Being Pure at Heart. It might be their name. Okay, it's their name. But, from what I've heard from the New York group's follow up to their 2009 self-titled debut, I'm slowly coming around.

Last night, the group performed "Heart in Your Heartbreak" from their upcoming Belong LP on Letterman. Again, the naming might throw some people off, but that shouldn't be distracting anyone at this point.

Belong is due out next Tuesday, March 29 via Slumberland Records. You can stream the entire LP here.

Thursday Bears: Strokes make Letterman return

The Strokes just seem to fit on Letterman. During their 2000-06 heyday, the band constantly frequented the Late Show and Late Night with Conan O'Brien (including month long specials). Now with Conan dearly departed (Jack White/the White Stripes were always his band anyway) from the New York area, and the Strokes already previewing Angles on SNL, the Late Show seemed apt.

Last night, the group returned, performing the live debut of "Taken for a Fool," one of Angles stand-outs. It still has that classic Strokes-performance cool apathy, but they seem to try a bit harder than they did on SNL a few weeks ago.

Deerhunter, with a few friends from the Black Lips and Back Pockets, brought an extended edition of "Memory Boy," the short Halcyon Digest track that the group plans to release as a single on Record Store Day, to Letterman last night. Go on, watch.

Last night, Best Coast, who are just pretty much everywhere lately, appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman with "Each and Every Day," which, by my count, is the 80th single from Crazy For You.

Wednesday Bears: Black Keys on Letterman

Akron duo the Black Keys made their way to the Late Show with David Letterman stage for, I don't know, the 30th time last night to perform their Brothers' standout single "Tighten Up," without crowd-favorite, Frank. Still, the Keys always seem to standout whenever they do the talk show circuit, and last night's show was no exception - whistling, included.
