Arcade Fire perform "Normal Person" and "Afterlife" on Colbert Report

With only a week to go before the release of the year's most-anticipated album Reflektor, Arcade Fire stopped by The Colbert Report to perform a pair of tracks not named "Reflektor." Included in the performance are two songs that the band previously performed on SNL special "Here Comes The Night Time," "Normal Person" and the album's second single "Afterlife."

Speaking of which, the radio rip of "Afterlife" has been subsequently taken down after yesterday, but the band has produced a lyric video instead.

Throughout the piece, Colbert constantly refers to the band as The Reflektors. The notion isn't a mistake, in case you missed the special story on the band's performance in Brooklyn last weekend.

Friday Bears: Jack White on the Colbert Report

The amount of weekly news pouring out of the Jack White camp this week (with Blunderbuss coming out last Tuesday) has been immense. After appearing on Jools Holland a few days back, White performed "Freedom at 21" on last night's Colbert Report. While the performance is worth your time, the interview that the two do together is pretty damn entertaining. Watch both below.

Black Keys on the Colbert Report

More Radiohead?

On the cusp of what has now been a confirmed upcoming tour from the England super band (next year), Radiohead made yet another familiar New York City stop on their recent media brigade, this time on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

But with most of The King of Limbs tracklist already performed on Saturday Night Live and The Colbert Report, "Giving Up the Ghost" was the next logical choice (if you're keeping tabs, that only leaves the instrumental "Feral" and "Separator" left to be seen). Tuesday Bears: Radiohead on The Colbert Report

As mentioned yesterday, Radiohead Week has officially kicked off. Yesterday morning, tickets went on sale for the band's shows for tomorrow and Thursday at NYC's Roseland Ballroom, and predictably were sold out within a matter of seconds. Despite no one's best-efforts, scalpers got their hands on a large portion of said tickets, and are asking for a modest fee, including up to $4,550. Really.

Lucky for some, shit deal for others. But, the band did make their hour-long appearance on last night's Colbert Report fairly memorable, performing four tracks from The King of Limbs, "The Daily Mail," and a special closing rendition of "The National Anthem," which Comedy Central ended up cutting just short at the end.

Monday Bears: In case you haven't already seen, Radiohead played SNL

Last Saturday marked the official beginning of Radiohead Week with the band's performance of "Lotus Flower" and "Staircase" on the season-premiere of Saturday Night Live. In case you haven't already seen the songs, catch them below via The Audio Perv.

At 10 a.m. EST today, tickets for the band's first official show supporting The King of Limbs at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City officially went on sale, which will be back-to-back September 28-29. Tonight, they will also be appearing on a special one-hour edition of The Colbert Report performing four songs from the aforementioned The King of Limbs.

Wednesday Bears: Bon Iver on Fallon ... again.

One night after Bon Iver made his Colbert Report debut, Justin Vernon and Co. marked the debut of their self-titled album by returning to the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon stage. If this sounds familiar, it's because Vernon was on the same stage a couple weeks ago to perform his melody cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me/In the Nick of Time."

This time around, the whole group was around to perform "Holocene," as the whole aura of Bon Iver continues to climb at an astounding rate. Tuesday Bears: Malkmus, Pavement on Colbert Report

I'm not sure it can qualify as a "while" because I can't remember the last time I actually saw all of Pavement anywhere on TV, now or 11 years ago, so last night's appearance on the Colbert Report was a bit of a surprise.

Before the group performed, "Gold Soundz," Pitchfork's recently decreed Number One Song of the 90's, Stephen Malkmus gave a quick, awkward and shortly-there-after completely irrelevant interview with Colbert, that didn't really answer the inquiry of why his songs are so ambiguous. Dammit, now it makes sense.

In last night's performance of "Holiday" on the Colbert Report, Vampire Weekend, Stephen asks the band what Contra really means, the well-deserved "Oxford Comma" scrutiny (in AP Style, they don't give a fuck, if you're wondering) and drummer Chris Tomson's questionable appearance.

Tuesday Bears: New Flaming Lips Video: I Can Be a Frog

Supporting the Flaming Lips upcoming 12th studio album, Embryonic, the Oklahoma natives have performed stints at Pitchfork Music Festival, ATP, and the Colbert Report before releasing the first video for the talk-along song "I Can Be a Frog." The song is a slow, quiet, and kind of odd choice to be put in video format, but still presents its quirky fun.

For those who may not recognize, that's Karen O's voice playing the part of sound effects as the brunette model (in a setting resembling Roxy Music's Country Music album cover) acts out each of the animals Wayne Coyne name-checks.
