EP Stream: HAERTS - Hemiplegia

Before the October 8 release of the super-anticipated Hemiplegia EP from one of the year's best new artists, HAERTS, is streaming the excellent four-track EP on Spotify. Included are the previously heard "All The Days," "Wings," "All For You," and the previously un-released title track. The only shame here is that there isn't more right now.

Cults - High Road

Following July's first taste of Cults' upcoming sophomore LP Static, the dream pop duo released the swimmingly crafty "High Road."

The track comes off as direct and sweet with Madeline Follin remaining charmingly subdued throughout. It's a distinctly mellow take from the duo, who seem to be growing from their 2011 self-titled debut. Check it out below and grab Static October 15 on Columbia Records.

New Passion Pit video - I'll Be Alright

A few days after Passion Pit announced plans to cancel a portion of their summer tour due to singer Michael Angelakos' "mental health," the band released the second video from the hugely anticipated sophomore release Gossamer.

The stunning video features a surprising visual display of engaging modern art, as well as one of the album's best tracks. Gossamer, which is due out July 24 via Columbia Records, is available to stream courtesy of NPR.

The band plans to return to its summer tour early next month at Lollapalooza.

New Passion Pit - Constant Conversations

The previous releases from Passion Pit's upcoming Gossamer have been, in my opinion, mleh. Nothing extraordinary from the high-falsetto pop group. However, "Constant Conversations" stands out a little stronger, and a little slower and more methodical than "Take a Walk" and "I'll Be Alright."

Monday Bears: New Shins - September

Things got exciting a few weeks back when The Shins returned with their first new material in nearly five years with the exceptional "Simple Song." In addition to the recently reunited group (still led by James Mercer, but with different band members along the way) scheduling a handful of tour dates, including Coachella and Sasquatch! appearances, the band released the B-Side to "Simple Song" earlier today, "September."

The "Simple Song/September" 7" will be available February 14 via Columbia Records. You can watch the lyric video for "September" below, and pre-order The Shins upcoming album Port of Morrow here.

Friday Bears: Gogol Bordello make Fallon debut, prep area show

Prepping the release of their fifth studio album, Trans-Continental Hustle, gypsy-punk pioneers Gogol Bordello made their premiere on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last Tuesday, April 27.

The group performed "Pala Tute," the first single from the new Rick Rubin-produced album, released on the same day. Apparently from Eugene Hutz frantic on-stage theatrics and the jumpy nature of the audience behind the band, the major label move hasn't taken too much of the fun out of them.

For fans in the area, Gogol will be performing at the Electric Factory, in Philadelphia on Saturday, May 1 with openers DeVotchKa and Jesse Malin and the St. Marks Social.

Tuesday Bears: MGMT Set to Release Second Studio Album, Congratulations

Nearly two and half years after the initial release of 2007's Oracular Spectacular, MGMT (courtesy of Columbia Records and Sony Music) are set to release their second studio Congratulations.

Fresh of the duo's first Grammy nomination (losing Best New Artist to the Zac Brown Band), the band is likely to take part in (yet again) another string of summer festivals, after already confirming dates for the Coachella and Bamboozle music festivals.
