Local Natives announce new album, new single

It's been way too long since we've heard any new material from Local Natives. The Los Angeles group become everyone's favorite it-band when it released their 2009 debut Gorilla Manor, and have been touring on the current of it ever since.

A few months back news broke of the band working on new material, but it wasn't certain when we'd actually hear anything. Finally, today we finally can listen to the first new material from the band in nearly three years with "Breakers." The lush single is probably the first of many from the band's upcoming album Hummingbird, which is officially scheduled for release January 29 via Frenchkiss Records.

The band promptly released upcoming tour dates with the news, with a special stop at Philly's Union Transfer April 4. You can see the full list of tour dates via the band's official website, here.

New Method Man, Freddie Gibbs, and Streetlife video - Built For This

It may not be a formal album, but there's a big deal of hype surrounding RZA's The Man With The Iron Fists soundtrack. We got our first taste of it a few days back with the excellent "Rivers Of Blood" from the full Wu-Tang Clan and Kool G Rap, and today the first video for the soundtrack has been released.

"Built For This" features Method Man, Freddie Gibbs, and Streetlife throwing hard verses in Chinatown (not sure which one exactly) with clips of the movie thrown in every once in a while. Watch the video below.

The Man With The Iron Fists is set for release November 2, with the album coming out October 22.

Ryan Hemsworth mix - Foolscast 35

Rising Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth debuted this supremely excellent mix on Mixcloud via Fool's Gold Records. The mix contains a ton of reworked tracks from acts like Frank Ocean and Jay-Z and is available to stream in its entirety below.

New The Pass video - Without Warning

It's been some time since we've heard anything from criminally underrated dance rock act The Pass. The band's new album Melt is only a month away, but today we get our first listen with the video for "Without Warning." Directed by Zach Hart, the video uses eye-lids to showcase the track lyrics, but the band themselves do eventually show up.

Check out the video below and grab Melt November 6 via SonaBLAST! Records.

New Le Sera video - Break My Heart

Vivian Girl Kickball Katy (Katy Goodman), better known under the solo title of Le Sera, has released a brand new video for one of the year's more underrated tracks, "Break My Heart." Watch her room casually come to life below and grab her album Sees The Light today, via Hardly Art.

Empress Of - Don't Tell Me

Brooklyn's Lorely Rodriguez, who has a pretty clever website design under her stage name Empress Of, has released this powerful new single "Don't Tell Me." Stream it below and catch her on stage during CMJ's YTGvB + Forest Family showcase tomorrow in Brooklyn.

Ty Segall on Conan

Supremely fantastic San Francisco garage revivalist Ty Segall, who I can't mention enough here, made his national TV debut last on Conan performing "Thank God For The Sinners." Check out the performance below and grab Segall's latest album Twins now via Drag City.

New Death Grips video - True Vulture

Not included on the group's most recent release NO LOVE DEEP WEB, Death Grips have released a brand new video for "True Vulture." The track has been out prior to the album's surprising October 1 release  from the band itself.

While most of the group's videos are shot in supreme lo-fi style, "True Vulture" comes from a partnering with Los Angeles animator Galen Pehrson, and voice-over work from actress Jena Malone. Check it out below, and don't forget about the album.

New El-P video - Stay Down

The video prequel to El-P's "Full Retard" is basically a three-minute plus jab at MTV's ravenous pop culture. El-P raps his newest single "Stay Down" to a frustrated and furiously disinterested crowd while TV On The Radio's Jaleel Bunton (who sings the chorus on the track) plays the role of pop icon. In the end, the fans get the better of the situation, exercising their passion on Mr. Killums (the puppet you'll recognize) before El-P can save him. Check it out below.

New Kendrick Lamar - Backseat Freestyle

We're less than a week away from arguably the year's most hyped album, Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d city. But it seems like the Compton rapper can't go a week without letting another track out. And just like you can expect, the newest, "Backseat Freestyle," sets the level even higher for the album. Check out the Hit-Boy produced track below.

FIDLAR - Shit We Recorded In Our Bedroom EP

FIDLAR's self-titled debut is still a few months away, unfortunately, but there's another (yes, another) new EP from the Los Angeles band, Shit We Recorded In Our Bedroom. The four tracks were previously released by the group over the past few years, but this is the first time its distributed as studio work. Stream the whole thing below, and don't forget to grab the self-titled debut January 22 via Mom + Pop.

New Sohn - Red Lines

Every time I seem to look away, Vienna-via-Britain producer Sohn has something new out. This new elegant and serene track "Red Lines" grooves in peacefully enough with Sohn's sweeter-than-expected vocals (a la How To Dress Well), but finishes all his own. Check it out below.

New Holy Ghost! - It Gets Dark

DFA electro duo Holy Ghost! have released their first original material in over a year with this dance-noir heavy track "It Gets Dark." There's no word on new material on the way, but could be a likely indicator of something big. Check it out below.

New Toro y Moi - So Many Details

Taking a break from his side Les Sins project, Toro y Moi has released the brand new "So Many Details" from his upcoming November 7". Grab a copy November 23 via Carpark, and listen to the track below.
