Thursday Bears: New Black Lips video - Family Tree

Arabia Mountain standout "Family Tree" is the most recent single from the Mark Ronson-produced effort from the Black Lips to get the video treatment. This time around, it's much more on the NSFW side of things with puking, blood, nudity, crucifixion, guy on guy, and I imagine some animal cruelty somewhere.

A few weeks after the Black Lips premiered "Go Out and Get It," the first video from the Atlanta group's upcoming Arabia Mountain LP, the group debuted their smoke-induced, violet-lit cock fights (?) in, who guess, Williamsburg.

The Mark Ronson-produced Arabia Mountain is due out June 7, via Vice Records.

Thursday Bears: New Black Lips video - Go Out and Get It

The Black Lips premiered their first new video since the release of their 2009 album 200 Million Thousand for "Go Out and Get It," a heavily surf-rock laden track produced by Mark Ronson.

The video sets the Atlanta band on a Bahamas cruise full of other fun-loving white people, that was apparently a bitch to shoot.

The group's new album, Arabia Mountain, is scheduled for release in June via Vice Records.

Tuesday Bears: New Mark Ronson - Bang Bang Bang

After the release of the Legend of Zelda-esque "Circuit Breaker," the second track from Mark Ronson's upcoming studio release Record Collection has made its way on the internet, via Fader.

The new single, "Bang Bang Bang," features help from MNDR (aka Amanda Warner) and Q-Tip, who make up part of Ronson's super-ensemble that will also feature a "where has he been" D'Angelo. Expect a video for "Bang Bang Bang" to be released in the near-future.

Record Collection is due out in September via Sony BMG.

Wednesday Bears: New Mark Ronson Video - Circuit Breaker

English super-producer and mish-mash electro/dance/funk curator Mark Ronson is set to release his first studio album since 2007's brass-induced cover salute Version, with the slight aptly-titled Record Collection.

The album's first single (apparently) is the electro-only "Circuit Breaker." The video, created by Jordan Galland and Gary Breslin, is a direct ode to Legend of Zelda, circa NES-era, in a surprisingly fitting and accurate, although different version. The game's still better, but it's not like we wouldn't play this version if we could.

Thursday Bears: Something Almost As Important

On a normal day I'd write about whatever new crap catches my attention in terms of original music and the most relevant music of the day, but today marks a day of a bit more significance for me not having anything at all to do with music. Football.

Tonight the Tennessee Titans and the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers will start the 2009/10 NFL season at Heinz Field at 8:30. So I'll be busy with anticipation later, almost avoiding any old regularity of my life for a day.

But, for those who need music to sustain their distorted appetites, or just don't give a shit about sports (Mike), here's a couple new songs from Banjo or Freakout and Mark Ronson.
