Although in the same frame of mind, one listen of "Sacred Trickster" gives the listener a keen idea that The Eternal will be a large leap away from the 2006's Rather Ripped. The return to 'sonic roots' may let the upcoming stand alone as the most anticipated of the year.

New Sonic Youth
Courtesy of the Matador Music Blog, some of us can get our first taste of Sonic Youth's (post-Geffen era) much anticipated album, The Eternal, due out June 9. The single, "Sacred Trickster," clocks in at 2:10, with Kim gnarling in front of Thurston Moore's guitar-swirls, ala a mature Sister.
