We're Back ... Notes From the Superbowl

I'm going to go on an unanimous limb here and just assume that most of you watched the Superbowl between the Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers last night (incredible game, even better finish) with great intensity. However, if any one of the 38 million people in the United States who didn't watch the game missed out on anything of value (the Steelers won, shocking, I know) there were some commercials and little half-time show with Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band.

To me the performance was pretty damn exciting even if the song selection (aside from "Born to Run") was a bit if not predictable than boring (that damn rythm line of "Glory Days" wont get out of my head). Incidentily, it reminded me of how boring Tom Petty and the Heartbreaker's really are.

There were also to note, the most expensive commercials ever seen by human eyes, plus a couple new trailers that caught my eye. Here's the sneak for Year One, starring Jack Black, Paul Rudd, David Cross, and Michael Cera.

On a continuing note from Springsteen, The Hold Steady have covered his song Atlantic City off of Springsteen's Nebraska (found courtesy of Stereogum). Timely, huh?
