The enthralling emergence of Archie Marshall - better known by his King Krule title - is as riveting as it is relieving. The furious English tone to his singing voice is likely abrasive, but uncommonly cool. The way it sounds, its almost a marvel that the teenage singer-songwriter ever got his name out of the UK. But here we are, already a few years into his young career, and we can't get enough of the kid.

Recently, Krule stopped by the abandoned Lincoln Heights jail in Los Angeles for a barren film-session, courtesy of Nowness (via Yours Truly). It has that enchanting La Blogotheque vibe, but includes an intimate interview with the articulate artist. King Krule - Easy Easy (Live On Letterman)

King Krule, the British Wunderkind behind one of 2013's best debuts 6 Feet Beneath The Moon, made his U.S. television debut last night, stopping by the Late Show with David Letterman to perform "Easy Easy."

Watching live, you can't help but wonder if the casual CBS audience was totally off-put by Archie's heavy accented signature. But for those who know the 19-year-old, the take was an absolute joy, matching the recorded version with effortless resolve.

A day after King Krule released the supremely stellar "Neptune Estate," the UK phenom, after weeks of hype, has finally debuted the full version of his 6 Feet Beneath The Moon LP. New King Krule - Easy Easy

It's easy to assume that England's King Krule, aka Archy Marshall, is a little off-putting to some. Unlike a lot of UK figures getting international attention, Marshall's young voice is distinctly British, and powerfully so. His newest single "Easy, Easy" fits the bill, coming from his positively hyped debut LP 6 Feet Beneath The Moon. The album boast's some of the year's best cover art, as well as one of his previous Zoo Kid efforts "Out Getting Ribs."

New Vampire Weekend - Ya Hey

Still less than two weeks before the release of Modern Vampires Of The City, there was a culmination of buzz about "Ya Hey," which had only been heard by sources who were lucky enough to get a promo copy of the album. Considering "Diane Young" was a fine enough single in its own right, the hyped reputation of "Ya Hey" was a bit curious.

Today, Vampire Weekend released the third lyric video from the upcoming album, in a furiously celebratory fashion. Champagne (labeled "Ya Hey) is popped throughout from the top of the New York skyline, with the  surprisingly solemn song playing through. For the first time, Ezra Koenig seems to be playing with bigger elements, talking of love and the evolution of devotion, with the band employing more backing vocals than ever before.

It's a big jump, which comes with the help of producer Ariel Rechtshaid, who's plenty familiar with big pop acts.

Modern Vampires Of The City is set for release May 14 on XL Recordings.

Vampire Weekend on Later ... With Jools Holland

Starting off the furious whirlwind of performances before the release of the band's third album Modern Vampires Of The City, Vampire Weekend stopped over Later ... With Jools Holland with a couple new tracks. First, the album's lead single "Diane Young," leading into "Unbelievers." The appearance comes after the Steve Buscemi-directed performance last Sunday at New York's Roseland Ballroom (Buscemi is a distant relative of band member Chris Baio, in case you forgot) and nearly a week before the band's upcoming Saturday Night Live appearance.

New Sigur Rós - Ísjaki

After the departure of band member Kjartan Sveinsson, who joined the band on keyboards in 1998 as the only band member with any sort of formal musical training, Sigur Rós are set to release the newest, far more uptempo LP Kveikur.

The release isn't until June 18 on XL, but the band has released the second official single from the follow up to last year's excellent Valtari, with "Ísjaki." This comes after the late March release of "Brennisteinn" and a few live performances of new material. However, those who pre-order Kveikur on iTunes will receive an instant download of the new track.

New Vampire Weekend - Diane Young and Step

After debuting a bevy of songs down at last week's SXSW, Vampire Weekend formally introduced the two tracks to the band's upcoming double A-Side single "Diane Young/Step." The first two official releases from the band's upcoming third LP Modern Vampires In The City have supporting videos as well. "Diane Young" is simply a car on fire, but, "Step" is a Manhattan-inspired lyric video fitting of a sweeter tune.

New Atoms For Peace - Judge Jury and Executioner

As we look into the future of 2013, there's already a lengthy list of important releases headed our way. Among the ranks of Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, and (maybe) Daft Punk, Thom Yorke's well-known side project Atoms For Piece has scheduled an album release for late February.

The single "Judge Jury and Executioner" this morning on Zane Lowe's BBC 1 Radio Show, which also features a nice little visualizer video to go with it. Check it out below, and grab Amok February 25 and 26 (U.S.) via XL Recordings.

It took me about, let's say, four seconds to decide to post Holy Fuck's new video for "Red Lights," after I saw a cat driving a car. And if there's one common rule about anything and everything involving the internet, it's that cats mean everything.

Thursday Bears: New Vampire Weekend Video - Holiday. And some Twilight stuff

Vampire Weekend, in the release of their new video for "Holiday" off their album Contra, are caught playing around the California (let's assume) coastline, grabbing In-N-Out Burgers, hangin' with the ladies and kicking the apparent shit out of somebody. Did I mention they're donning Colonial-era Europe garb? Yeah, probably.
