Mixtape: Egyptrixx - Music To ... DRONE Out To

Two months back, we highlighted "Ax//s," the first cut from Egyptrixx's newest effort A/B Til Infinity. Since then, the producer has released the album, an hour-long "scrapbook" of ideas that inspired the new LP, and now this mammoth (MAMMOTH) mix Music To ... DRONE Out To.

I've been doing this for quite a while, scouring the internet for mix after mix for endless hours. But never, ever, have I seen anything put together quite like this. Music To ... DRONE Out To reaches almost seven hours. Seven. The selections here, which features the work of Oneohtrix Point Never and Tim Hecker, among a litany of others, also apparently inspired Egyptrixx's new work. Take the day off and stream it below courtesy of i-D.

A/B Til Infinity is out now on Night Slugs.

Stream: Oneohtrix Point Never - New Life Now

Last year L_A_N  penned Daniel Lopatin for this truly, truly bizarre mix, which finally resurfaced. Fans of Lopatin's R Plus Seven venture as Oneohtrix Point Never may be in for a total surprise, or see this coming a mile away. Bluntly, "New Life Now" isn't much like R Plus Seven. What's here is a jagged mix of world music samples, muddled dialogue, synth pop, and pretty much every melted concoction you can think of.

Stream it below and order R Plus Seven today on Warp.

Oneohtrix Point Never - Live At MoMA PS1

With news of extended tour dates on the way, Warp alum Daniel Lopatin debuted a portion of his recent live performance alongside visual artist Nate Boyce for the MoMA PS1 project "R Plus 6/Affect Index."

It's not too much of a surprise, given Lopatin's overall penchant for beguiling oddness as Oneohtrix Point Never, and the partnership with MoMA, that the efforts are "curious." I won't go into anything further than that, because I'm doing whatever Lopatin and Boyce accomplished a likely disservice. Watch the segment below and order the latest Oneohtrix Point Never release R Plus Seven today.

Oneohtrix Point Never video - Still Life (Betamale)

Alongside the release of the brand new R Plus Seven, out next week on Warp, Daniel Lopatin, better known as Oneohtrix Point Never, has released the horrifyingly creepy new video for "Still Life (Betamale)."

The internet-culture obsessed video is nothing short of cringe-worthy, diving deep into the obscene fetishes that have etched out in recent years. So cringe-worthy, in fact, that YouTube has already taken the video down. Never the less, the images are eerily fascinating, especially so with the added narration to the video.

Watch "Still Life (Betamal)" below and pre-order R Plus Seven here.

New Oneohtrix Point Never - Zebra

After debuting "Problem Areas" early last month, Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, is back with another taste of his forthcoming R Plus Seven LP, "Zebra."

The heady, masterfully complex track cracks in at about seven minutes, but it feels like it trips on to a possible endless extreme. The beauty of Lopatin's project is that the inescapable endless rift seems to effortlessly tapped into, whether it comes from Rifts or his new album. And as enjoyably diverse and deep as "Zebra" comes to be, it only feels like a microcosm of something much bigger.

Stream the track below. R Plus Seven is due out October 1 on Warp.

Rene Hill - Meta Concrete

September 18 will mark the U.S. release of the upcoming duel LP between Oneohtrix Point Never and Rene Hill, through NNA Tapes. Although the press on the release has been a little quiet, this new single from Hill's side, "Meta Concrete," should stir up some hype. Listen below and pre-order the album here.

Thursday Bears: New Oneohtrix Point Never - I Only Have Eyes For You (Cover)

Here's one of the coincidentally many covers of Harry Warren and Al Durbin's 1934 hit "I Only Have Eyes For You," re-imagined vigorously through the perspective of Oneohtrix Point Never (Dan Lopatin). The lengthy, drone-inspired rendition was made for Doug Aitken's art installation at Washington D.C.'s Hirshhorn Museum tomorrow, which also features other renditions of the song. Check out the cover below.
