New Delorean - Destitute Time (ft. Glasser)

Following June's release of "Spirit," Barcelona dance outfit Delorean have debuted the positively excellent new "Destitute Time."

The track comes nearly a month before the band's set to release Apar, courtesy of True Panther Sounds. Glasser fans may recognize the vocal contribution on the track, who provides a lofty high to the resounding chorus. Stream the effort below and grab Apar September 10.

New Delorean - Spirit

Barcelona outfit Delorean, nearly three years removed from the excellent debut Subiza, are officially back with what the group is calling a "big production album" on the way. The first of the 10 track LP Apar is the supremely lively and colorful "Spirit," which quickly reminds of how enjoyable "Grow" was the first time around.

Friday Bears: Surfer Blood

Apparently, and I only say this knowing the inherit risk of me saying the words may in fact kill the trend, kitschy surfer rock is not only popular again, but it seems to be sticking. The resurgence of the often forgotten but always likable summer soundtrack has been a more than abundant filler for the bulk of 2009. Artists like Delorean, Washed Out, Sunnybrook, nearly every artist on Lefse Records, and countless others have cultivated the washed out sounds of the 60's with a tinge of modernity to offset the unavoidable boredom of beach culture.

I only bring up the topic because I may have just heard one of the best modern surf-rock songs in, well, as long as the genre has been relevant. Far too often do the sounds of fringe-echoed vocals and hazy feedback make many of the aforementioned artists less than enjoyable. Surfer Blood (aptly named), however, seem to have perfected the output with their new single "Swim (To Reach the End)." The song is beyond catchy and joyful, with the more vigorous approach that makes other artists seem pedestrian by comparison. A must listen for any regular reader, or Hell, anyone else.

New Delorean: Seasun

Delorean's new single "Seasun" is a more-than assuming track that sounds as a pleasant resemblance of the cache of Summer-tinged songs that have surfaced for the past couple of months.

The Barcelona native's (who's been routinely linked to fellow Barcelona artist El Guincho) single was picked up by Pitchfork's Scott Plagenhoef several days ago, who remarked "Seasun" as ...

"big and fierce. It builds slowly and it explodes in the right places."

The single is featured on Delorean's AryTon Senna EP released last June on Fool House, along with the single "Deli."
