Thursday Bears: New Morning Benders - Virgins

Earlier this morning (cough) everyone's favorite video documentary whatever you-call-it, La Blogotheque, premiered a new song from The Morning Benders, "Virgins."

After emerging as one of 2010's best new acts, The Morning Benders continue to prove why they deserve their newfound recognition. While it's certainly not quite the level of "Excuses," off the group's debut album Big Echo, "Virgins" is a definite reminder of why we care about them in the first place.

"Virgins" is only the beginning of the band's La Blogotheque set. Expect the rest to be released soon.

Wednesday Bears: Hidden Chromatics gem

New Chromatics? Reelz?

Not quite. The band has released an extended versions of their 2006 12" In The City and the "soundtrack" to their nonexistent film Night Drive. The extended editions contain several previously unreleased tracks, including "Circled Sun," available below.

The new version of In The City and Night Drive are available here.

Tuesday Bears: Vampire Weekend try to impress your mom

Making their daytime television debut, and marking the first and probably last time I'll ever have to say that phrase, Vampire Weekend performed "Cousins" and "Holiday" today on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

Ezra's voice seems to be a bit off during "Holiday," something that probably infuriated 40-plus year old women across the country. "I don't need this, what is this? What happened to Stamos? I bet he doesn't like this."

Monday Bears: LCD Soundsystem's unofficial robot

Funwunce, a group of video music artists from Houston, made an "unofficial" video for LCD Soundsystem's "Home." As far as unofficial goes, this isn't anything close to amateur-ish.

The video, which is very well crafted and produced, features ol' Boxy the robot, strutting around town looking for friends, but only finding solace in hipsters and the ladies. See for yourself.
