‘Dragonball: The Movie’

What The Hell Is Happening?

After years of rumors and patience, last September, the wish of countless Dragonball fans around the globe was granted with the announcement of ‘Dragonball: The Movie’.

The movie’s set to release next year and stars Justin Chatwin (The Invisible) as Goku, Cow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi, and James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) as Lord Piccolo. With secondary players like Ernie Hudson and Randall Duk Kim (The Matrix Reloaded), the movie seems to have a solid enough cast to win audiences over.

However, with trailers hitting the internet, a lot of questions have been raised. Why is young Goku being portrayed by the twenty-something-year-old Chatwin? Why do we need to see Goku hanging out at high school? What’s with the all the cars? Why doesn’t Master Roshi look like Master Roshi? Why does Piccolo look like a yellow vampire?

It’s simple: this movie is too big for the people who are making it. The director (James Wong) has very little experience, not only in making movies of this caliber, but making movies in general. And with a writer (Ben Ramsey) who has even less experience, it’s just not looking good.
A side note: (and this may be of no consequence), the film’s composer, Brian Tyler, has also provided the score for some of the worst movies released in the last decade.

If you like Dragonball, get ready for mediocrity on April 10th, 2009.

I'm sick of this typicall BS !

You should directing this post to the people who took Fox's money. If they that concerned about the film , they could have held out or at least read the contract completely before signing it.
