New Merchandise - Anxiety's Door

Split through a modern lo-fi hunt, Tampa Bay's Merchandise sounds like a spiritual mending of The Smiths and Jesus and Mary Chain - two hefty influences that any band would probably enjoy being compared to.

You can check out the band's newest single 'Anxiety's Door' below, featured on the group's Total Night EP. Grab the EP this spring via Night People Records.

New Apparat - A Violent Sky

German electro majestic Apparat premiered the brand new "A Violent Sky" a few days back from his upcoming adventurous LPKrieg und Frieden (Music for Theatre), which is set for release February 15.

Listen and/or download the jaw-dropping, beautiful single below, and certainly watch out for the album to make some heady noise next month.

Kung Fu Necktie, Jan. 10 - Parquet Courts (Preview)

Throttled in the post-punk DIY scene in New York, there's diverging sects of bands. Groups like The Men, who rifle through spiraling rhythms and nurturing songs, live off the encompassed energy of the movement. But, more or less, The Men, and groups like it, suit the memories of modern day Paul Westerberg requisites; stylized in a present fury, but treading water with ageless notions of its influence.

Brothers Max and Andrew Savage and Sean Yeaton construct Parquet Courts, another band in the ever-growing stack of notable sounds emerging from Brooklyn. After last year's release Light Up Gold, the trio (originally from Texas) stabilized its sound in a rich Americana punk for an impassioned youth. Few songs express that message as well as "Stoned And Starving," which wonders what a real living is for a modern 20-something in America.

Andrew, the band's lead singer and songwriter, is loud and clear, but rarely so serious that it drags the sentiments through tough tread. For the punk band template, the winning formula is usually calculated mess. But among the littered gems in Light Up Gold, the mess isn't really the point. There's reasoning and proud, boisterous exclamation in the tracks for a band that is seemingly so small at the moment.

Alongside the band's performance at Philly's Kung Fu Necktie tonight will be a slew of smaller bands in a furious set, including; Amanda X, Priests, Mike Bell & The Movies, and The Cats. Tickets for the 9 p.m. show will be available at the door, which follows an 8 p.m. show featuring emerging hardcore band Raspberry Bulbs.

New The Men - Electric

It only takes about two seconds of "Electric" to remember what was so good about the band's previous two albums Leaving Home and Open Your Heart. Spiraling with friendly DIY sensibility and a tinge of romantic afterthought, it'll start the early 2013 hype for The Men's upcoming album New Moon.

Listen below and grab the new album March 5 on Sacred Bones Records.

New Ryan Hemsworth - An Overture Might Help Me Stop Thinking About You

Not exactly one for slowing down, frequently mentioned Canadian producer Ryan Hemsworth has yet another new track worthy of your time, "An Overture Might Help Me Stop Thinking About You." Filled with classic early generation video game samples, it's not as energy consuming as last week's release "BasedWorld," but there's no complaining.

New Foxygen - No Destruction

A day after Foxygen debuted their brand new "San Francisco" video, the band debuted the next track from their upcoming We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace and Magic, "No Destruction." A straight-up storyteller throwback to Dylan-era post-folk in the weary ire of Belle & Sebastian.

Check out the brand new track below, and grab the band's new album January 22 via Jagjaguwar.

New Ra Ra Riot - Dance With Me

It seems super-poppy indie band Ra Ra Riot are going the Passion Pit route - a la, introducing a more danceable element to their sound. The group's newest single, "Dance With Me," feels a little fun than usual. Listen to the track below and grab the band's next album Beta Love January 22.

New Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - We No Who U R

Another one of this year's highly anticipated albums comes from the always incredible Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. A few weeks back, the band posted this preview of their upcoming February album Push The Sky Away, which features this single ballad "We No Who U R."

Check out the shadowy video from director Gaspar NoĆ©, and grab the album February 19.

New Atoms For Peace - Judge Jury and Executioner

As we look into the future of 2013, there's already a lengthy list of important releases headed our way. Among the ranks of Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, and (maybe) Daft Punk, Thom Yorke's well-known side project Atoms For Piece has scheduled an album release for late February.

The single "Judge Jury and Executioner" this morning on Zane Lowe's BBC 1 Radio Show, which also features a nice little visualizer video to go with it. Check it out below, and grab Amok February 25 and 26 (U.S.) via XL Recordings.
