Friday Bears: Cerebral Ballzy is actually happening

Adult Swim has been promoting some fairly decent music lately, alongside their summer singles series and occasional free mixes (available on their site), they've been pushing through Cerebral Ballzy, a Brooklyn punk band akin to 80s era hardcore styles.

It may not be everyone's taste, but for those who do, fairly awesome. Listen to their debut album and watch the video for "Don't Tell Me What to Do" below, courtesy of Pigeons and Planes.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. cover Pavement

About a week ago, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.'s cover of Pavement's iconic "Summer Babe" made its way around as part of Starbucks' Summer Covers Series, which has been fairly hit-or-miss up to this point. The rendition is much more adapted to the group's style than the ordinary carbon-copies that have been produced before, all in front of the Chicago summer skyline - courtesy of the A.V. Club.

Thursday Bears: New Girls - Vomit

The title of the song may be a bit off-putting, but Girls' new six minute-plus single "Vomit," off the group's upcoming album Father, Son, Holy Ghost (out September 13 via True Panther Records) is a lot more endearing than one may guess. You can listen below or grab the download here.

EDIT: Track isn't available at the moment.

Wednesday Bears: New Dum Dum Girls - Coming Down

This Dum Dum Girls track hit yesterday, but it's still very much worth mentioning. Their new song "Coming Down" is another continuation in the band's young career in a very (understated) positive direction. One day in, and it's easily one of my favorite songs of the summer, if not the entire year.

You can grab the group's upcoming album Only In Dreams September 27, via Sub Pop. Listen below or grab the download from Sub Pop here.

New M83 - Midnight City

A few weeks ago we got out first word of M83's upcoming album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming with a teaser video that didn't really amount to much. But today, you can actually here the fantastic first single from the upcoming release (due out October 18 via Mute Records) for "Midnight City." Head over to M83's site for a free download, which you get either by signing up, or through their Facebook or Twitter.

Tuesday Bears: More Videos - Beastie Boys (ft. Santigold) and Foster the People

Here's two videos from yesterday that somehow failed to make the Monday publishes: First, the Beastie Boys' and Santigold's action figure adventure of "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win," brought to us from the Funny or Die crew. The second is a little more of the ordinary from Foster the People for their second single "Helena Beat." Yes, somehow childhood Mad Max is more normal.

New Washed Out video - Eyes Be Closed

It's a little more green screen than I'd like to publish in one day, but Washed Out's new video for "Eyes Be Closed" off his recently released Within and Without is nothing more than some alt hottie riding a motorcycle through the wind. Give it a go.

Monday Bears: New Black Lips video - New Direction

In "New Direction," the third video from the Black Lips most recent album, Arabia Mountain, the Atlanta guys do whatever they can in front of a cheap green screen, and nothing much else.
