Wednesday Bears: New music from The National - Bloodbuzz Ohio

Since everyone else is doing it --

The National debuted the first single from their upcoming studio album, High Violet, earlier today. The single, "Bloodbuzz Ohio," isn't quite as drenched in the ether as "Terrible Love," which the band performed to a fuzzy perfection last week during Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, but it still brings lead singer's Matt Berninger's wonderfully swollen gaslight hymns, ala the group's 2007 album, The Boxer.

High Violet is scheduled for release May 11 in the U.S., via 4AD

Tuesday Bears: Listen to MGMT's new, full album

Earlier today, MGMT decided to give fans an early taste (kinda) of their upcoming new album Congratulations, as a result of an apparent "album leak," according to the band.

The whole nine-track album is available at the band's homepage, free for anyone who cares enough to listen. It's an eclectic mish-mash of semi-psychedelic surfer rock, haunted mansion harmonies and soft acoustic lushes, compiling a, let's say, less than memorable album.

You can listen to Congratulations in it's entirety here.

Monday Bears: National on Fallon, Gaga confirms for Lollapalooza

With my spring vacation rolling in and the music blogo-sphere blowing up with everything SXSW, I decided to take a much anticipated week away from Bears and Bullets. I did so without informing anyone, yes, but I felt it was an unspoken agreement.

So, getting back into the groove of things (with a severe lack of anything good to report), I wanted to post The National's performance of "Terrible Love," from the group's upcoming May album High Violet on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon a couple weeks ago. The performance sheds a little light on way High Violet has quickly become one of this Spring's most heavily anticipated albums.

In other news, another headliner has officially joined the Lollapalooza 2010 lineup. With a little more than two weeks remaining before the festival's official lineup is revealed (Tuesday, April 6), sources revealed earlier today that Lady Gaga has officially been confirmed to be one of the six headliners alongside the already confirmed Green Day and Strokes.

Only three (likely) headline spots remain, with The Arcade Fire and Soundgarden more than likely taking two of those. The sixth and final spot, however, remains up in the air.

More rumors to come.
